What is the difference between an Integrated ERV and a Stand-Alone ERV?

A stand-alone ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator) in a condo bathroom is a separate ventilation system that operates independently of the building's HVAC system. It is usually installed in a bathroom or other area where ventilation is needed and can help improve indoor air quality by removing stale air and replacing it with fresh air from outside. A stand-alone ERV typically has its own controls and is not integrated with the building's thermostat or HVAC system.

On the other hand, an integrated ERV is part of the condo's HVAC system, and it works in conjunction with the heating and cooling equipment to provide ventilation and improve indoor air quality throughout the entire unit. An integrated ERV is typically more efficient and can provide better control of airflow and filtration compared to a stand-alone ERV. It is often installed as part of a larger HVAC upgrade the thermostat or HVAC controls.

Overall, the main difference between a stand-alone ERV and an integrated ERV is that the former is a standalone system that is installed in a specific area of the condo, while the latter is integrated into the condo's overall HVAC system and provides ventilation throughout the entire unit.
