Why Should You Reset Your Heat Pump?
Newer models of Heat Pumps come with Electronic Circuit Boards, which means that they have more safety control features. This makes the Heat Pump responsive to even the smallest change in normal running parameters. For example, a dirty filter (recommended to change quarterly by manufacturer), a weak blower fan motor, and any changes in water loop temperature or pressure (for that specific size) can trip the system. Therefore, any deficiency mentioned before can trigger the Control Board to shut the system to protect the compressor.
