Why can't my Heat Pump be repaired and your technician is recommended a replacement only?

Modified on Fri, 7 May, 2021 at 10:22 AM

In some cases our in shop technicians will note that Heat Pump should be replaced only and the repair option is not recommended.

There are multiple reasons for why this could be such as the repair itself will be a high price e.g. compressor and reversing valve around $2900, already similar to the price of a new heat pump package.

Or parts may not be available anymore if the supplier no longer supports this unit.

Another issue might be the repair is in an area such as the air coil where the cannot be repaired and only replaced.

Other issue with repairing might be just the overall condition such as corroded lines, acidic oil in the system.

**Please review technician's notes in the in-shop diagnosis and if any further questions communicate with in-shop technician.
